Epistemic Me, Inc. ("Clarity," "we," "us") builds the Clarity Self-Model API and related products (Clarity Pilot, Clarity Align, the Self-Learning Agent). This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
Contact us at [email protected] with any question or request.
What we collect
- Website visitors — pages viewed, referrer, approximate location, and device/browser info via analytics; email address if you subscribe or join a waitlist.
- Product users (Clarity Pilot, Clarity Align, Self-Learning Agent) — account identity, login credentials, and in-app activity needed to operate the service for your workspace.
- Customer-provided content — meeting transcripts, documents, and annotations you or your organization submit for processing.
Why we process it
To deliver the service you're using, to improve the service for your own workspace (we do not pool one customer's content to improve another's), for security and abuse prevention, and to meet legal obligations.
Legal bases
Contract (operating the product you signed up for), legitimate interest (security, service improvement within your workspace), and consent (marketing emails, which you can withdraw any time via the unsubscribe link).
Sub-processors
We use a small set of infrastructure and AI providers to run the service — hosting, database, transactional email, and the LLM API. Full list, purpose, and evidence links: /sub-processors.
Retention
Pilot customer content (transcripts, derived annotations, and datasets) is deleted within 30 days of engagement end or on written request, whichever comes first. Until an automated retention job ships, deletion is executed manually by the Clarity operator on request — write to [email protected].
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a portable export of your data, and you can object to specific processing. Email [email protected] — we verify the request and respond within 10 business days. Workspace admins can self-serve a full dataset export and per-run deletion inside the product without waiting on us.
Security
Summary of our controls, architecture, and incident-response commitments: /security.
International transfers
All processing happens in the United States today. Render (our infrastructure host) is EU-US Data Privacy Framework certified. Anthropic (our LLM provider) processes API inputs and outputs under its own Data Processing Addendum and deletes them within 30 days — it does not use API content to train its models.
AI-specific disclosures
- Clarity's self-model extraction, scoring, and chat features call Anthropic's Claude API.
- Clarity Pilot's transcription and extraction features call OpenAI's API (Whisper, GPT).
- Customer content sent to these providers is not used to train their foundation models.
- Anthropic deletes API inputs and outputs within 30 days (source).
Children
Clarity is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect data from, anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
